When a customer comes to you with a real mess, Fitzpak relishes the opportunity to clean up!  This customer came to us with a significant problem in their ability to make rum cakes at high volume, as their package was having major leakage of the rum sauce that is drizzled over the top…..WHAT A MESS!  Fitzpak was able to design in the solution to the problem: a 360 degree,leak proof, snap fit!  We started with a material known for its soft feel and ability to snap closed with a tight seal: HDPE.  This material also has natural properties which make it impervious to the corrosive attributes of alcohol.  After the material selection was complete, we set about the job of creating the 360 degree snap closure that was essential to the functionality of the package.  This requires a good bit of engineering as the properties of HDPE require a large allowance for shrinkage, but based on our knowledge of the material, we were able to create a fit that was leak proof, solving the customers’ problem!  No more leaking, sticky packages!
