Does Robotics play a significant role in packaging?

Absolutely! One of the fastest growing technologies in the world is robotics, and Fitzpak is constantly designing trays and packaging to be robotically fed and filled for our customers! Our Featured Product is an excellent example of how we work with our clients to achieve a solution which can conform to the complexities and tolerances of a robotically handled package.
The primary design elements for this 32 vial tray were demanding: a three piece design was created to ensure exact 90 degree orientation of the product, and the three sections needed to be permanently welded for durability and reuse.

Every small processing detail was addressed, starting with a tray feature which would engage a laser eye to initiate the loading process. Product cavities were designed so that the vials could only be entered in the proper orientation (or they simply would not fit) and also maintain a final vial height of +/- .015 after insertion. Once loaded robotically in 3.7 seconds, the tray would be ready for shipping to laboratories around the world.
